Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ – Should I Watch It?

Intro to… Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’
Frieza is a bit like me after hitting the gym. He trains for four months and thinks he can take on a Super Saiyan.

The Plot
The death of Frieza has left his empire in ruins. His army has been severely weakened and more and more planets rise up to fight their suppressor. Determined to restore the empire to its former glory, Sorbet, the current chief in command, sneaks unto Earth and uses the dragon balls to wish Frieza back to life.

Fully aware that his current level is insufficient to fight a Super Sayian head-to-head, Frieza starts training to reach a level his kind has never seen before. And when he finally does, he sets a course for Earth.

Should I Watch It?
Dragon Ball is back. A new series called Dragon Ball Super has been released in Japan and is expected to reach the west in 2016. Even though it came out very recently, it already has two accompanying movies: Battle of Gods and Resurrection F.

These two new movies distinguish themselves with upgraded visuals, actual storytelling, and a continuing plot. The animation is clear and brings the series to a whole new level. It allows characters to show off their own unique martial arts and the fighting goes much faster. Whereas the previous 17 movies were basically 40-minute specials with no tie-in to each other or the story, the new ones have both a stronger narrative and also feel like they are part of the Dragon Ball Super universe.

Resurrection F takes place shortly after the events of Battle of Gods. I do not want to give too much away about its predecessor, but it introduced a couple of outstanding characters that make their return. Besides these, expect the usual motley crew of Z-Warriors and, off course, the terrifying Frieza.

Dragon Ball: Resurrection ‘F’ does a good job following in the footsteps of Battle of Gods. It is action-packed, funny, and breathes new life into the Dragon Ball franchise. Definitely give this a try if, like me, Dragon Ball was a part of your childhood.

Yes, watch it.

The animation is much better in this one, but I thought the story of Battle of Gods was much more interesting.
